Testimony of Corey Strapp
When I learned that Jill Goodwin was resigning as Director
of Christ Church, I was very disappointed. But my loss
is your gain, and this is just a brief letter explaining
what a great person you have chosen to work with your
children.
So many people view preschool as a glorified daycare,
and I'm sure you’ve seen countless examples of that
out there. Jill has a committed passionate belief that
children can learn at any age, and that there is more
than one style of learning available. Children in the
2’s create wonderful art projects that tie in with the
week’s particular color, letter, and number theme. In
this way they have both the art and the education. The
3’s continue on that path, learning to write their letters,
reinforcing group and solo activities, imaginative play,
and music, music, music. The 4’s wraps up the “preschool”
process and helps prepare the children to enter kindergarten.
Science, art, field trips, and Bible verses- the diversity
is amazing. The children have fun and look forward to
school. Do you need further proof that this is a wonderful
program?
I truly believe this is due to Jill’s role as Director.
She oversees every bit of the curriculum, while allowing
her teachers the flexibility to change with the needs
of each class. She knows each student, and plays an
active role in their education. Jill also understands
that the educational needs of the children are changing,
and has incorporated changes to help keep her students
current. Computers, Spanish, field trips –again ways
to teach children and help them seamlessly transition
to the next level of education
Christ Church is a great school, and I wouldn’t drive
30 minutes one way if I didn’t truly believe that was
true. Jill Goodwin has made the school that way, and
I pray that our new Director helps take her vision to
the next level. As for your children, get ready. With
her passion, and your help, Jill will take them far
beyond a basic education, and help prepare them to be
students for life. Take care of her and love her as
we have.
